Fastener

A fastener is a device used to mechanically join or affix two or more objects together. A huge fastener selection is available from Engineering Services. Whether the fastener that you require is a stainless steel fastener, a stainless threaded fastener, a special fastener or an industrial fastener, Engineering Services can help you.

We offer a large range of metric standard size screws and fixings in both grades A2 and A4 Stainless Steel. We also offer many sizes of imperial threads including Unified, Whit and BSF. If the size or type that you require is not shown on our website, we will still be pleased to help you.

Grade A2 is an Austenitic grade of stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance except in severe industrial and marine environments. Because Grade A2 fasteners have high oxidisation resistance, they are satisfactory for use up to 850 ºC. Grade A2 fasteners also offer excellent resistance to nitric acid and other oxidising chemicals, as well as good resistance to other mineral and organic acids within certain limits of temperature and concentration. Grade A2 can be described as non-magnetic except when it is heavily cold worked. Grade A2 is not hardened by heat but is greatly strengthened by cold working.

Grade A2 fasteners are used in civil and chemical engineering projects, as well as food processing, medical and brewing equipment and many types of domestic appliances. Grade A2 fasteners are often used for aluminium alloy applications and special building and masonry fixings.

Like Grade A2, Grade A4 is also an austenitic grade of stainless steel but with a higher corrosion resistance than Grade A2 in many situations, including contact with dilute sulphuric acid and acetic acid over a wide range of temperatures and concentrations. Grade A4 is also suitable for marine uses. Grade A4 gives good oxidisation up to 800ºC.

Grade A4 fasteners are often used for deck fittings, swimming pools, sewage treatment plants, dairy equipment and medical sterilising.

We offer a range of precision fasteners, all of which are long lasting and offer great levels of endurance against fatigue and come backed by our years of experience in the industry. Because of this experience, we can provide you with a quality engineering support and products that are all manufactured, thoroughly tested and certified onsite at our plant.

Some fasteners fail to live up to the manufacturer's or the importer's claims, we are different. Some fasteners may save you money to start with but can result in costing you thousands of pounds to replace when they break. This is because a vast majority of these fasteners do not come backed by our success in the market.
